Weighted lap belt and blanket
Kinderlift is pleased to announce two new products we’re now offering to the special needs industry: weighted lap pads and weighed blankets for kids.
This past summer we met with Children’s Hospital Colorado and showed them our weighted stability vests and they immediately started using them with their patients. “Easy to clean, kids will wear them, handle on the back helpful”. For Children’s Hospital we added additional the straps on the back, the sides and front that have helped them control and work with kids who needed a helping hand with stability issues while the weights helped with sensory issues. They liked the idea of the weighted vests being made out of durable nylon fabric that was easy for them to keep clean. While they were testing the vests they asked if we could make them other weighted products for their kids.
We went to work, and with Children’s input, we’ve developed two other weighted products for their use with the children’s they’re working with: a weighted lap pad and a weighted blanket.

Laps Pads: sized to fit on a child’s lap
- 11 inches wide x 30 inches long
- 16 pockets to hold small bean bags (sewn inside between two layers of nylon)
- Comes standard with 4 four ounce bean bags and 4 eight ounce bean bags
- Lap pad has an adjustable strap to hold pad on the child’s lap
Blankets: sized for young children
- 30 inches wide x 36 inches long
- 40 pockets to hold small bean bags (sewn inside between two layers of nylon)
- Comes standard with 10 four ounce bean bags and 10 eight ounce bean bags
Items applicable to both the Lap Pad and Blanket
- You can mix and match bean bags to the weight needed to fit each child’s needs, and additional bean bags are available. Bean bags come in 4 oz., 8 oz. and 12 oz. sizes.
- Color: royal blue with black trim
- Made from durable and easy to clean nylon and poly, take the bean bags out and put the pad or blanket in the washer / dryer.
- Bean bags contain steel shot and are double sealed in plastic and PVC backed nylon fabric
- Note: Later this year we’ll be introducing lap pad and blanket covers. These will be made of soft fabrics such as fleece. These will easily fit over the pads and blankets and can be removed to be washed when needed.
